We're inviting homeowners, landlords and tenants within the Compulsory Purchase Zone (CPZ) to register their interest in our future property compensation schemes and Home Relocation Support Service.

In November 2025, the Government announced its support for Heathrow’s scheme for a third runway, which means we are now able to move forward with our plans.

Heathrow has now identified properties that are within the CPZ, which is an area of land Heathrow anticipates that it will need to acquire to deliver our third runway expansion.

Homeowners, landlords and tenants of these properties in the CPZ may be directly affected by our proposals and are now being invited to register their interest in our future property compensation schemes and Home Relocation Support Service.

While the final details of our schemes are being developed, we are asking homeowners, landlords and tenants in affected properties to register interest in our future property compensation schemes. This will help us to understand personal circumstances and the best ways we can communicate with those who might be affected when we do launch our future property compensation schemes and Home Relocation Support Service.

Register your interest

To complete the Registration of Interest Form, you will need your Unique Registration Code that was included in the letter we sent to you if you own or live in a property that was identified as being in the CPZ.

If you think you live in or own a property that is within the CPZ and have not received a letter with a Unique Registration Code, please do get in touch with our Community Relations Team on 0800 307 7996.

There is no obligation to complete this form or provide Heathrow with information. Please provide information you are comfortable with that may help us improve how we communicate with you in the future.

If you choose not to complete the form, it will not affect your eligibility for future property compensation schemes or the Home Relocation Support Service.

The information you provide to us will be confidential and managed to accordance with our Privacy Notice. It will only be used to help us to understand if and how you may need additional support from us in future communications about our property compensation schemes  or Home Relocation Support Service.

Your questions answered

The Compulsory Purchase Zone (CPZ) is the area of land, which includes residential properties, that Heathrow anticipates will be required if development consent is granted for airport expansion.

This zone includes any land identified in the Airports National Policy Statement (ANPS) as required or potentially required for the construction of the runway, associated infrastructure, and mitigation works.

Heathrow may need to acquire your property in order to deliver our third runway expansion.

Heathrow will launch its property compensation schemes later this year.  At that time, Heathrow will make contact with all affected property owners to explain the process and available compensation. We aim to reach agreement with all affected property owners through these compensation schemes.

When we launch our property compensation schemes, we will at the same time introduce a Home Relocation Support Service. This is a dedicated service that will provide guidance and support to homeowners, landlords and tenants to help them navigate the process and plan ahead in good time. When the service is introduced, we will outline the full range of options that homeowners, landlords and tenants have in relation to the property they own or live in.

Any information you provide us with now will help us to understand how best to communicate with you in the future and what  additional support you may need as we progress with our plans.

This is an agreement between Heathrow and an eligible residential property owner in the CPZ which sets out the terms on which Heathrow would purchase the property at an agreed price and within an agreed timescale.

The final details of our proposals are still being developed, and we will write to homeowners, landlords and tenants who will be affected when we know more.

When it is launched by Heathrow later this year, the Home Relocation Support Service will provide advice and guidance to support homeowners, landlords and tenants of properties that we will need to purchase.

The final details of our proposals are still being developed, and we will write to homeowners, landlords and tenants who could be most impacted later this year.

Heathrow is committed to supporting those who rent properties that may be required as part of our future plans. When we launch the Home Relocation Support Service it will be available to support tenants as well as homeowners and landlords. As our plans progress, we will share further details on future compensation that renters may be eligible for, along with information on the wider support we will offer.

This is a questionnaire issued by our land agents at WSP to help us identify the people and organisations with legal interests in land that may be affected by our expansion proposals.

There is no obligation to register interest in Heathrow’s future property compensation schemes. We will communicate to all impacted homeowners, landlords and tenants with the details they will need to know.

However, registering your interest now will ensure we understand your personal circumstances, and the best ways we can communicate with you.

We have invited homeowners, landlords and tenants of properties that are identified as being in the Compulsory Purchase Zone for Heathrow’s expansion proposals to register their interest in our future property compensation schemes. You can also do so on behalf of someone who has been contacted by us to register their interest.

Heathrow has an Interim Property Hardship Scheme which is available to eligible applicants. Details can be viewed at https://www.heathrow.com/company/local-community/property-compensation-schemes

Property owners may also be eligible to serve a statutory blight notice, as set out in the Airports National Policy Statement. Further information can be found here.
