To help inspire your route, we’ve put together a selection of standout destinations worth weaving into your Round the World journey.

Start in the city that never sleeps: New York

Your journey begins with a smooth transatlantic departure from Heathrow, heading into New York City.

Soak in skyline views and dazzling Broadway lights. Spend your days wandering Central Park, exploring world class museums, or discovering neighbourhood food gems from Manhattan to Brooklyn. It’s the perfect introduction to a global journey, and just the first stop made possible by Heathrow’s unmatched reach.

Or take a tropical turn and island hop through Hawaii, where volcanic landscapes, golden beaches and laid back luxury invite you to truly switch off. With coordinated flight schedules and smooth connections, travelling between these destinations feels effortless, especially when your journey began with the ease and efficiency of departing Heathrow.

Discover the heart of Asia

Asia is often the soul of a Round the World trip with so many incredible destinations to choose from across the continent, and Star Alliance makes exploring it feel wonderfully connected.

In Tokyo, tradition and technology meet, where ancient temples sit moments from neon lit streets and Michelin starred sushi counters. Seoul blends cutting edge culture with historic palaces, while Bangkok thrills with vibrant street food and riverside hotels.

Each stop brings new flavours, new rhythms and new perspectives. And thanks to the seamless experience that starts at Heathrow and continues across Star Alliance member airlines, even long haul travel feels like part of the experience.

Across the Tasman Sea, Auckland and Queenstown offer breathtaking nature, from volcanic peaks to cinematic mountain landscapes.

Arriving refreshed after a business class journey means you can make the most of every sunrise, hike or harbour cruise, turning travel time into valuable experience time.

The timeless allure of Europe

No Round the World trip feels complete without Europe, and there’s no better place to begin and end that chapter than Heathrow, one of the continent’s most well connected gateways. Before ending your journey in the UK, stop off in Europe first to explore it’s most iconic spots.

Explore Rome’s ancient ruins and food filled piazzas, and witness history unfold at every turn. Zurich, Vienna or Barcelona add layers of culture, architecture and unforgettable cuisine. And thanks to Star Alliance’s extensive European network, hopping between cities is effortless before returning to Heathrow to complete your journey.
